Thursday, March 5th join us in the semi-private room of Senor Tequila (Brookside/33rd & Peoria) as we explore an issue that may go unnoticed by many, but can mean the world to some of the most vulnerable among us.
Our special guests, Brooklyn & Micah Clopton, will share their experience as CASA volunteers, discuss flaws in the current system, and offer suggestions for its improvement.
Brooklyn recently posted: “Christians, it’s time to get involved. Oklahoma should not have the highest incarnation rates in the world. My CASA foster child turned 18 in October. It is a daily battle to help him graduate high school, keep a roof over his head, get him to doctors appointments and keep him out of jail. The state needs to stop taking children out of their homes if they are not being abused. There is a difference between being poor and being abused. Parents should not be put in jail as a result of being broke.”
Her post got the attention of Liberty on Tap and we asked her to share more about her personal experience, the mission of CASA, and the pros and cons of the current system.
Please join us! Free as always but seating is limited. Click “join” on the event so we can know how many people to expect. Please share with anyone you feel may be interested.
