Defenders of Liberty – Grassroots Activism Awards

TULSA, OK – August 23, 2013 – Saturday, August 24, 2013, Tulsa 9.12 Project and Liberty on Tap are uniting to recognize and honor grassroots activists for their hard work and dedication to preserving liberty in our cities, state and nation.  The Defenders of Liberty – Grassroots Activism Awards ceremony will take place during the Tulsa 9.12 and Liberty on Tap ice cream social being held at Grace Lutheran Church, 2331 E 5th Pl, Tulsa, OK, from 3-5 pm.Standing up for lower taxes, limited government, and protecting the right of the individual may not be fashionable or particularly popular, depending on who you talk to. But why isn’t it? There are ordinary individuals that have taken time out of their days to stand up for what they believe is right. After working 40 hours a week, they are dedicated to find enough energy to make calls, walk neighborhoods, or speak out at meetings in their community to make a difference. These actions should not go unnoticed. This is why the Tulsa 9.12 Project and Liberty on Tap, two local grassroots organizations, teamed up to acknowledge these local individuals contributions towards the cause of conservatism and liberty.  Our purpose in doing so is so others may see that their actions for the cause of liberty and conservatism do not go unnoticed and should be praised.

Some of the awards to be received are the Samuel Adams-Statesman of the year award, the Patrick Henry– local activist award, the Paul Revere– message activist award, the Thomas Jefferson– writing activist award and the Thomas Paine– newest activist award.

The public is encouraged to attend the ice cream social and Defenders of Liberty – Grassroots Activism Awards ceremony Saturday, August 24, from 3 – 5pm, at Grace Lutheran Church, 2331 E 5th Pl, Tulsa.  Meet local activists of all political affiliations and find out where you can get “plugged in” and involved to make a difference in your community.

“Rights may be universal, but their enforcement must be local.” – Murray N. Rothbard
