I subjected myself to right wing talk radio a few times over the past week in order to evaluate the information being disseminated by “conservative” “news” outlets and gain an understanding of how current events are being framed by neo-conservatives and their apologists in the media. I do this from time to time. I suppose you could call it research. Gag. Anyway, I noticed a striking theme and I wonder if you have noticed it too.
When you tune in to your favorite “conservative” infotainment provider, listen for something:
With all of the dreadful events in the news right now – war, illness, mayhem – are self-labeled “conservative” talk radio hosts defending freedom OR are they calling for a more assertive, powerful, controlling central government? Are they bemoaning the fact that the executive branch of the USG is not active enough, not clamping down enough, not tyrannical enough? Are they continually referring to agents of the State as “leaders”?
Are “conservatives” calling for MORE government? That was my take. How ‘bout yours?
